Labor 2010 the smell of football is in the air. Thank fricking god. Watching Boise St VA Tech hate Boise St go VT. Not really a fan of either team but it's football and I will watch. Not to mention I get to leave the wife down stairs. Life is good. Back is out I took Labor day to serious and actually worked. Put new Path to spa and installed a new doggie door. Which led to siding repair also. O yea and I put concreat in the top part of the pond. I must be out of my fking mind.

2010 will never be the same the tragic death of my god-daughter has taken a toll. What this has done to her family can not be described and I can not imagine the pain that they are going though now. I am not a very religious person but I am praying for them. I had lost touch with them and she was the one who just months ago got us all back together. The time I missed with her I will never get back and I wish I could change that. I was looking forward to getting to know her and her sister again. Feb 11 2010 ended that. A drunk driver took her life changing forever the lives of so many. 1141 people came to her viewing. 1141 people lives were changed by one drunk driver. A family is broken by one drunk driver.

So I have been building a pond in the backyard. On and off for a while I am finally putting the finishing touches on it. The water fall was thrown together and needed to be reworked. Here are some pictures from the beginning. The rain has slowed the process and the new waterfall has a lot of work still to be done but I hope to have it done by the weekend.

With the end of football season and the recent passing of my wife's mother. I have found it difficult to post. I hope to change this soon. I would like to say some things about my wife's mother but cant seem to get it done with out getting choked up. So I will wait and in time will get that done. I know you are wondering what football has to do with not posting. Well I always posted while watching football. Now I have to spend more time with the wife and can not post. Spending time with the wife is not a bad thing just so you know. But I do miss my football. The other sports pretty much suck.

Those of you who read this know I love my dogs as I have no kids. O sorry the one of you who reads. My big boy Jake has had a few thing removed from his stomach and and Brandi has also. I have spent many thousands of dollars and I do mean thousands. I have learned the signs of a dog that has eating something that will not pass. I and I have learned of stomach bloating as we lost one of our dogs to that in 2001. So when Jake started throwing up and pacing the floor all fricking night I thought SHIT. So yesterday we take him to the vet. Great cut him open again. 700 dollars later and many x-rays I find out he had a FRICKING TUMMY ACHE.Are you kidding me a TUMMY ACHE. Bottom line he is my baby and I love him and would do it again.

Wii update 1

OK I have always considered my self fairly athletic. I am now some what over weight but not to bad(in my mind anyway) This Wii Fit thing is just a video game right? Not really a way to get in shape Right? It kicked my fat ass and I am apparently still an unbalanced obese dweeb. So it keeps telling me. You should see me do the hula hoop not a pretty sight. Yoga I don't bend like that. Then there is this jogging in place thing too. Now keep in mind my Wii is up stairs. You can knock pictures off walls along with other things if you are not light on you feet. And of course the Wii says I am a clumsy oaf, yet all my pictures are still there. As you go you unlock new things and more reps. I actually find that I am enjoying this. Hell i will never make mister American use the Wii but it might help me get the Nordic Track out of the attic because that sumbitch will work you out. I got to start somewhere. The goal is 30 lbs by April 28. Stay tune more to come.

Wii Fit Is Back

Ok I got another Wii Fit today so I can start my new weight loss program again. (My stepson is enjoying the one we gave him.)And I know that this will be the one that works(yea right). Just as soon as I get off my ass and hook the thing up. The goal is 30 lbs by April then I will be lean and mean. Well maybe just not as fat. I was reading that the Wii has a weight limit. Damn can you imaging being to fat to play a video game. Monday it begins and I will keep every one informed of my progress .Like you give a shit but i will do it any way.

OK I am not going to give a play by play of who I am. So I will start with what neK asked. It was some where around 1991 give or take a year but the day for sure was July 5. A friend of mine ask me to go to Sam's and Sam's Boat and party.These were clubs and they were next door to each other. He was going meet another friend there. So we all met at McDonald's Brian Myself and Nancy. Little did I know Brian was trying to set Nancy and I up. Lots of beer later it seemed to work. Next day I gave her a call and we started dating. About 8 months later I bought a house and she and her son moved in.8 year later at the rodeo barbecue I ask her to marry me. So on June 24 2000 I was married.(STUPID STUPID STUPID). We sold the house. So we loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly OK just The Woodlands. We are still here. There was a lot more in between but this explains how I met my wife. And by the way I am just kidding about the stupid part. My wife is a great women. Hell she has to be to put up with me. So the bottom line is I met my wife at McDonald's. Big Mac with benefits.

Back to work after 11 days off. It does not pay to take time off. I have been playing catch up every since. Getting close now so I will be back posting and story telling shortly. I will try to post at lunch time. I can't stay awake at night any more (I must be getting old). I get up at 4:30 am every day so I can be to work by 6 or 6:30 depends on traffic. Once the employees get there I can not get as much done. I know cry me a river. Good news I leave at 4 PM. It is good to be the King. Anyway keep checking back

I was born in Kansas City, Kansas ( not Missouri) Were I lived for 5 years so they is not much to say about those years. I do remember a little. From there I went to Wichita ,Kansas 2 years then Omaha, Nebraska 4 years then Denver Colorado 9 weeks then Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 6 years and ended up in Houston Texas in 1977 and have been her every since

Happy New Year . I love Jan 1 football all day. And my wife hates it. Jan 2 more football and the lights come down. Jan 3 More football and I am more than likely still packing up Christmas lights.Jan 4 thru Jan 8 more football. Damn I love this time of year. The only down side is Jan 5 back to work. And after an 11 day vacation it will be tough to get started again. I need to win the Lottery.

Well the Wii fit program has been put on hold again. We gave the Wii fit to my Stepson and his girlfriend to take back to London with them. We bought him a Wii for Christmas and we were not sure he would want to haul it back with him. Well he did so we gave him our Wii fit also. So now I have to wait until the stores start to restock. I do not mind my Stepson and his girlfriend are worth it. So my Wii program will be on hold for a couple of weeks. I got my new camera and can now start with the pictures again. All will start after the new year. Golf tomorrow and not back to work until Jan 5 2009. Life is good.

What makes Christmas lights worth it

Copied from my other blog site I thought this was worth posting in both places.

As in my last post we all know how much I like to decorate. Well last night our door bell rang. I was upstairs watching football as usual. My wife answered the door and there was this women and her children her husband was waiting in the truck at the edge of our driveway and she gave us a large can of three flavored popcorn and a very nice card. She and her family express how much they enjoyed our lights and had to give us their family Christmas light award for what they thought was the best house. We were touched and we realized that this is exactly why we do what we do. Not for the gifts but for the joy it might bring others. I was looking out the up stairs window like a stalker but I could see their faces as the walked through our yard and looked closer at the windows and play in the bubbles from our bubble machines. It was priceless. It made me revisit the train and I managed to get it working again for now. I have to be careful with it and baby it along in short runs and it will more than likely not make it to the New Year. But by God it will run on Christmas Eve even if it burns up again. Than I will buy more spare parts and be more prepared for next year. " And they heard him exclaim as he went out of sight Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night"

Thank you Thomson family you made our year.

Just saying But this time with a little bit of heart that I did not know I had.

Back to basics next year.

My wife will be getting me a new camera to replace the one I misplaced at the football game. I know this because I was there when she bought it for me. She will not let me have it until Christmas. So after the Holidays I will be posting more pictures of stuff, I have no kids just dogs. So you will probably see a lot of dog shots. I want to finish the GTO before I die so you may see pictures of the progress so if you read this for the next 10 to 20 years you might get to see a finished product. I hope to snap so shots of other things also and not bore everyone with just dog and car shots. But I am a simple man, like Popeye said "I am what I am and that's all that I am". We might even take a trip down memory lane with past pictures that I have. And I have quit a few of those . But we will see. It is all going to depend on how this plays out. This may be the last post of the year on this blog as my stepson and his girlfriend are come in from London on the 23 and we have a lot to do before they arrive. So just in case have Merry Christmas and Happy New Year . Let's all stay safe.

Wow. Houston won another game that is four in row the first time ever. Superbowl here we come. Ok I am dreaming, but we did win 4 and beat the best team in the league. Well the team with the best recored in the league maybe not the best team.It is still an big deal to us. All we have to do now is beat Oakland and then DA BEARS and we will have our first winning recored in franchise history. IT CAN BE DONE. IT WILL BE DONE IT MUST BE DONE. JUST DO IT.

It snowed in HOUSTON on Wednesday night not a big deal for some but it was huge for us. I got very little at my house which is just north of Houston. Holy Crap Batman

A co-worker of mine had a heart attack over the weekend and ended up with triple bypass surgery. They say he will be OK. He is only about 3 years older than me. CRAP wake up gang or I will be next I am over weight and sit on my a$$ alot and watch other people exercise(football). I actually lost 1 lb using the Wii. But that was only because I carried it up and down the stairs trying to deiced where to set it up. So maybe there is hope for it yet. Work is stressful and I have a dog with a sleep disorder that is causing me to have a sleep disorder. Fat, Stressed and not sleeping. Right out of the book Heart Attack for Dummies. So what to do? Eat right, exercise have less stress at work and sleep. I can make this work. If I sleep at work that would reduce the stress and eliminate an unhealthy lunch. Three down. Now for the exercise. Lets see drink more beer which will make me Pee more causing me to have to get up and run the the bath room. Case solved. Man there ain't nothing to this being healthy stuff. I will let you know how it works.

I started the day after Thanksgiving and seemed like it would never end but in the end it was worth it. THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS ARE UP LET THE JUDGING BEGIN. The trains are running the bubble machines are blowing the lights are set to music and Rudy is shaking his booty. I won't win squat and I don't care like I have always said it is not about the winning it is about the kids faces and the thanks people give us as the drive by our drunk a$$es in the drive way. ( We have as much fun sitting in the driveway by the fire watching them go by as they do looking at the lights.)I will try to get some pictures it is hard to get good night shots.Maybe I can get some video too.

Last night Tech Showed their true colours. They were over rated. 65 to 21 it was a great game. I will be the first to admit that i thought it would be closer but I am also glad that it was not. Now we have to wait and see Texas beat OU,Tech beat Texas, OU beat(killed) Tech. I believe that OU is Playing better football than Texas at the moment and is the best 1 loss team. The coaches think Florida is the best 1 lose team. What do you think. I is going to go down to the wire. God I love Football. Go Sooners beat them Cowboys. My Pick Three best teams in Order

OK so here it is Thursday I have been sick for the last 3 days and am just now coming back to life again. My new Wii fitness program was put on hold and I will start that again tomorrow(like it is really going to work). So as you can see from the useless post below that I now can take pictures and post text from my cell phone. Now I can sit in public places and look like I am doing something important on my Blackberry just like everyone else. This may come in handy someday we will see. Christmas is coming and the house decorating has started. I truly love to put up lights and decorate the house. We do animated windows on our house. We have one window that will have two trains in it this year. I am starting a little early this year with hopes i can have it done by the Saturday after Thanksgiving. My brother and his family are coming down and I want my Nephew's to see the house. One is 18 and one is 5 i have never met the 5 year old. I have talked to him on the phone and he seems like a hoot. I will take pictures and maybe get some short video once we get it all done. Our whole neighborhood decorates and we hope to win best neighborhood. It is not about the winning to me. It is all about the look in the children's faces when they see my house. To me that's winning. I have just been writing whatever pops in to my head tonight I think is all the cold medicine that I have been taking. It is snowing in Pittsburgh(if anyone cares) I am watching football. Brain fart I am done.

So I was reading another blog today Flipping out with Clare. And i noticed we have something in common. Our body's tend to reject exercise although I am sure hers is better than mine. I am trying something new at least to me. I went and bought a Wii Fit to try to make working out fun. So one thing led to another and I had to have a new TV to play it on upstairs o darn now I can see the football games better too. So I hook this up last night and it proceeds to tell me I am fat (hell not just fat but obese) and out of shape, also that I trip and fall a lot because I have bad balance and poor posture. Thank god it can't check my spelling or it might tell me I am an idiot(which I may prove later). Now to make things worse I wake up this morning with a cold from hell ( some things never change). So I managed to not smash the thing to pieces for being so damn honest and I have decided to stick with it. Seems like something to blog about for awhile. I will post updates as to how well it is working. If you see a new comet in the sky you will know it did not go well. O yea one last thing thank you ken for the phone call I spent an hour trying to explain that one to the Wife. There is a reason I am glad she can"t see this blog. lol

A Day In the Life

Well today is my wife's birthday and she is 29 again. I keep telling here that we are to the age where we should be 39 again. Looks like it dinner out and then we come home and pass out to TV. We have this thing where you get a birthday weekend and we have to do what ever that person whats for the weekend. So Saturday I get to go shopping at the Houston Galleria woo firetrucking who. But I will go and pretend that i enjoy it ( because I am a good hubby)all the time trying to find all the electronic stores so i can check on the football scores and maybe catch some of the games.We also get to eat mall food looks like that will be Chikfliet. I think my parents want to take her to dinner after that. My feet will be hurting I will have had enough junk food to last a week and then i will stuff my self with some good old Mexican food and have the fiery shits for three days. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEY. Thank god she can not use a computer.

Man you got to love those Texans 41 to 13 and once again I was there. It was really a close game right up to the point where we took the field than it got ugly. And to make matters worse my Dad and I always stay until the finial gun. its 41 to 13 with 58 seconds left and they decide to use all 3 of the firetrucking time outs. Yep that's what i would of done prolong the misery(not).Tech won and that sucked.Now for all you OU haters and Texas fans you need my OU boys to beat Tech next week. We have to get Texas into the championship game. Yes I am pulling for Texas. Again some day I will try to explain why I live in Houston (for 31 years )and still usually pull for OU. Since I only have one follower and he already knows why. No need tell myself I already know too.

This is all I have to say about Politics untill 4 years from now
I am so glad the election is over. And apparently the media got elected NBC,CBS and ABC ran a good campaign now we will see how they can run the country. Now understand this I am an American and even though i did not vote for our new president elect and I do not agree with his views on the correct direction of our great country he is our president and I will support him. But the media should be ashamed they did not report all the facts about all the candidates. Elections should not be decided by Media or just plain bad journalism. I sincerely hope our new President elect proves me wrong and I will gladly eat crow if he and his new staff can fix some of our problems of course that will only happen if he will listen to both parties Dem and Rep together have some great ideas if they can work together they will succeed individually they will fail. The parties must unite.

I don't know if it was the time change or what, but holy crap was this a long day or what. I got up at my normal 4:30 am got to work at 6:15 and I think that was when it happened time stopped. Of course I had a terrible case of the youn'ts ( Youn'ts = you don't want to do nothing ) and that did not help matters. Hell I slept drove to the office and every one wanted to take off early I heard 4 different excuses today. As follows

1. My stomach hurts can I go home early i think the fish that i brought from home was bad.

2. I had a Halloween party and my dog bit one of the kids. the mother took her to the doctor and now i have to go to my vet and pick up the shot records for my dog because they are calling animal control

3 My ex boyfriend kicked in the door to my apartment and I had him arrested I have to go and make sure they fix my door.

4 I have an eye doctor appointment

At least number 4 she ask me on Friday if it was OK so it was not a surprise.

For me 2 and 3 are the best 2 is the most original and gets best excuse of the day

I have nobody to blame but myself I was the one who gave up my nice sales job to become management (stupid stupid stupid) now I a glorified babysitter as well. Someday maybe I will tell the whole story more than likely not. Well starting to sound like i am bitching an that means I am getting sleepy.

Saturday night and I finally have some time to myself. I lost my good digital camera at the football game. I wish I could say I was drunk but that is not true I was stone cold sober. Hell I did not even miss it for 2 days. Now I have to break out the Kodak digital. I starting to play frisbee with Jake our largest Doberman and he loves it. We had a demo last Saturday and I let my wife throw for him, but he does not mind her as well as me so now I am officialy into the frisbee now too. Hopefully I can get some pictures of him in action and get them posted.We have antother demo next weekend in Clearlake. We will see how he does then. I will say it looks pretty cool to 95Lbs of Doberman leaping 4 ft off the ground to catch a frisbee. GET OUT AND VOTE

Well once again the Sooner's go down in flames to the Longhorns. Some people will want to say the there were bad calls and that was why they lost. Bottom line is Texas was better and deserved to win they came to play and play they did. for all of you Texas fans my hats off to you.( just wait until next year) On a better note ( at least for me)THE TEXANS WON A GAME that deserves a repeat THE TEXANS WON A GAME. So my father and I got to see a very good game today we sat there sober may I add ( father Alzheimer's so I need to stay sober)and for a change watched the Texans dive the field and score with 3 seconds left it was awesome. But hell it does not take much to entertain me. I thought it was funny to see a cat jump 15 ft straight up after throwing a beer can at it. You had to be there.

Well here it is the end of a fun weekend for a change away from all the hurricane issues. Saturday I got to play golf with my new contacts.I did not know that sand and golf balls were magnetic but this appears to be true also try as I may golf balls will not float dang the luck. I would love to blame the new eyes but alas maybe my game just sucked that day. The good news is it was a beautifulday and I did see my ball hit trees and lakes and sand that one week ago would have been a blur. YEE HAA !!!! Still adjusting to the mono vision though. About the football I have seaon tickets to the Houston Texans a great game it was right up untill we found yet another way to lose. Although my golf game was off and the Texans lost again I look forward to next weekend and hope I can do it all again. O yea next week is the Texas / OU football game GO SOONERS. I know how can I live in Texas and pull for OU thats story for antoher time.

OK I am switching from glasses to contacts. What a pain in the a#$. I am doing this so I can see to play golf. ( I want to see my ball hit that tree further down the fairway). I am +125 in one eye and +150 so they are making me mono vision. We can go to the moon but can not make contacts that can correct our vision with out being mono vision. Depth perception is a problem now. well you know what they say "The only difference between a brown noser and a shithead is depth perception. I am not a brown noser so I guess that leaves the latter.
